California 2026 Governor Polling
Explore our interactive primary polling average for the 2026 California Governor primaries, and our trend line showing how the race has changed over time. We’ve also built a unique polling average that tracks how the gubernatorial candidates are polling with voters based on their party, race, and which part of the state they live in. In California, all candidates run in the same primary regardless of party in the first round of the election, held on June 2. The two candidates with the most votes will advance to the November general election. While Democrats would be heavily favored in the general election, there is a slim but real risk that they could get locked out if two Republicans finish on top - a possibility because Republican voters have largely coalesced around two candidates, while Democratic voters are divided across a larger field of candidates.
