The Boston Red Sox had an excellent run last season, started by a terrific April that quickly established themselves as one of the MLB’s best. To make the playoffs and contend in October in 2022, the Sox are going to need to flip the script and play excellent baseball the rest of the season to make up for a sluggish April and early May. However, by the end of May, the Sox had begun to improve their fortunes, and the addition of a new wild card seed will make such a comeback a little bit easier than in years past. As they proved many times in the last fifteen years, they can be a lethal team in the playoffs so long as they can make it.
